May God forgive me for being a hateful old lady
This has not ben one of my better days. I went to WalMart and they don't carry my Calorie Countdown milk anymore. Picked up cat fod and some fruit and a couple of magizines. I hate going thru the do-it-yourself checkout. Cashier told me to go thru that one and I told her not to walk of because it would mes up. 10 minutes and 3 adjustments from her later I started to leave. Now most of ya'l know I'm as deaf as a fence post. My hearing aides help but I've only got 30% of my hearing left. My hearing aides have readjusted theirself of the same frequency that the antithieft portal at WalMarts. No big deal I always hold my reciete in my hand and have it ready to show them. Sure enough it went off. I showed the lady my reciete and told her my hearing aides set it off. She informed me no they didn't. She had me go back thru the archway, this time it didn't go off. She said she would have to look in my purse. Excuse me. Nobody looks in my purse. She told me to open my purse so she could check inside. I told her in no uncertain terms she could kiss my butt. Lets go into the office and the manager could look in my purse if he thought it was necessary. She said she could not leave her station. But she did stand inside the hallway until I got to the office area to make sure I didn't take anything out of my purse. I had the manager called and I hit the ceiling. The manager and assistant manager both apoligized and the assistant manager walked me out and the warning went off again. The lady tried to stop me again even with the assistant manager with me. I walked on out and she was getting a royal chewing out right in front of the customers.
I am the type of person if the cashier gives me to much change I return it. I have got home before and called the store and let them know next time I come down I'l need to repay them because I could not go to sleep at night If I took something that did not belong to me. It upset me teribly to be stopped in front of people I know and be treated like a common thief. So if you hear on the 6 O'clock news about one old lady beating the stuffing out of another old lady in a WalMart Store in Arab, A l you know it happened again and send bail money. Love, Miss Mary

I understand totally Miss Mary!
I opened a protein bar and ate it once in Walmart while shopping. I had not eaten all day and I knew if I didn't eat something I would buy everything that looked good in the store, besides the fact, I was about to pass out.
Anyway, I paid for my groceries and then started out the door and noticed the wrapping from the protein bar. Well, I went to one of the cashier's for 20 items or less and told her what happened. She acted like I had stolen something and treated me rudely, like I was a bother. This was in front of other customers and it was embarassing. I did tell her thank you and have a wonderful day and gave her the biggest smile I could muster!
A couple of weeks later, I walked out to my car and when I started unloading the groceries in my basket, I noticed that some makeup was in the bottom of the basket and I had not paid for it...thank God it didn't set off the sensors. I picked it up and went back in Walmart and just got in one of the lines and paid for it without telling anyone what happened. I didn't want to go through that again.
I think they should teach manners to cashiers, along with the kids in school!!

Sadly, today the old saying "the customer is always right" isn't adhered to. Sorry that you were treated so badly, but I have to admit - your story, the way you handled it, made me smile today. Don't ever let anyone mistreat your or step on your toes...you stand up for yourself Miss Mary!!
And I'll watch the news to see if you need any bail money, LOL.

Miss Mary..
You did good. And something very few people know..they absolutely cannot force you to stay in the syore, open your purse or go to the managers office. They have no authority under the law. That being said, they can follow you out and get your tag number.
The way they act at WM is one reason I very seldom shop there.

A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything.

I seem to be able to get in some trouble no matter where I go. Next time I'm going to tell them you are holding my youngest child hostage and to get her back I have to steal a bag of cat food, two mangos and a magazine. Pretty fair ransom. I don't know about you but if I'm going to hell for stealing it would have to be a heck of a lot more than $24 worth of groceries. Se ya'l tomorow. Love, Mary
Well those of you *****member me "back in the day" know how much I hate Wal-Mart. I think when they interview potential employees, they start out with "Can you be surly, roll your eyes and be rude to the customers? Well, great! You're hired!"
Since I had WLS, I no longer have to go through the H-E-double hockey sticks of dealing with those awful wheelchairs that always stranded me in the middle of the store and the managers who acted like it was I personally who broke their dam___d wheelchair.
However, I still have severe knee trouble and the doctors have told me I MUST have my knees replaced (both of them,) so it is hard on me to be walking and have to stop abruptly. At the Muscle Shoals Wal-Mart, there are always employees around and for some reason, they walk right in front of me, looking at me like I am in their way and I have to "put on my brakes" suddenly and it KILLS my knees. I don't know why they do that as much as they do, but they are always walking right in front of me. Or they are standing in the aisles chatting or flirting with someone and I have to go around to another aisle because they, instead of moving a little so I can get through, will just stand there and glare at me like how dare I interrupt their little flirtation session.
Oh, don't even get me started. I wish I had been there with you Mary. I would have given them a piece of my mind. I'm having really awful pain in my right elbow, but I wouldn't mind making it worse by popping them upside their empty heads.
Dang, that makes me mad. I'm in an ill mood anyway because of dental pain. I have some infection and its making my whole head burn and feel queasy. I've got some antibiotics and something for pain, but can't go see the dentist for a while if ever, so I'm just toughing it out. Taking up for you against an idiot Wal-Mart employee would make me feel better!
Love you!
Joni
