I get up and go to work everyday, like many people. Today was no different. I was on time, early even. I was asked to go in the back and do something I don't normally do. No problem, I was happy to help out. One of the managers comes to where I was working and asks " Would you rather be back here or up front? " ...My reply was this " it doesn't matter to me, my pay is the same". He walks away and 5 minutes later he sends someone to take over what I was doing. No problem.
Well, before I left today my direct supervisor calls me to the office. She tells me manager B. is upset with me and didn't appreciate what I said to him earlier. He told her I said I wanted more pay to work in the back!! I don't know where he got that from!! I was flabbergasted. I told her " B. must have misunderstood. That is not what I said at all. ". I then told her what was actually said. They wanted to write me up anyway. I refused to sign the write up because I did nothing wrong. Manager B. had already left for the day, so I coukdn't even call him in to defend myself face to face. Anyhow, he us not American, and English is not his first language, but I thought he had a better grasp on the language than that!!
I wanted to just walk out and never go back. But as always, I will be back in the morning, as always.

I don't blame you for not signing the write up.. I wouldn't have either.. You stand up for yourself and march yourself into work tomorrow and confront him rite infront of your manager.  Maybe he'll be written up for his misunderstandings!

oh gosh I would get wrote up every week because I am always trying to help out in other areas and I also make that comment.!

I can't believe you got written up for that!  Depending on how you said it, it could have come off as sounding "flippant" but certainly not a comment worth writing someone up over.  It's a good thing you like your job (other than that incident).  I would be raving too.

Well, one of them was not for me, but the other I should hear back soon. I have another interview in the morning too. So we will see.
