Arthritis pain
Is anyone else suffering with the pressures in the weather? Most everyone I know with arthritis has had a very painful day today. We're blaming it on Ike even though he is miles away! My right knee has felt like it is in a vise grip all day - walking has been painful.
I know since our surgeries we are not supposed to take drugs like Celebrex, etc. Well, arthritis strength tylenol is NOT helping and I have been dipping into my Mobic RX the past few days.
Anyone else with these troubles and how do you deal with them after gastric bypass?
ROLL TIDE! (Even though I'm an Auburn fan...)

I am swollen to the point I can hardly close my fingers around my coffee cup. I hurt so bad I want to just cry. I am short tempered and want to be left alone. I hobble around like an old lady. I to get some relief I took Aleve. I am counting the hours until Wednesday when I will have my remicaid infusion.
I totally understand, Gwen! I was so excited when I got up this morning - nothing hurt! It didn;t take long though. As soon as I started moving around it started back up. I hadn't thought about swelling - yep. I'm right there with you. I hope we both can get some relief soon! Bette Davis was right: "Old age ain't for sissies!"
I know what you mean,Arthur is acting up something terrible..My hands hurt so bad,I hold them warm water when I first get up just to get them to bend..I take celebrex too, didnt know we could take Aleve at all.I guess when you hurt bad enough you try just about anything..I know when all the fronts are coming thru,I dread winter its my hardest time, feet, knees and all my joints just plain hurt..Im on methotrexate, shot once a week have been for years used to be on Remicaid but had to come off it,but it did work...Hope you get relief soon take care..Juju
I take methotrexate injections twice a week and remicaid infusions every 4 weeks. I have come out of remission so he is boosting my timeframe and the dosage amounts. No, we really are not supposed to take Aleve but he did tell me when the pain got to the point I could not take it any longer then I could use it with caution. I can't take Mobic and Celebrex so I just plug along. I am grateful that my progression has stopped where it is for now. My arthritis was discovered at an early stage and treatment was started.

The Valtoren Gel is prescription. I have been to a regular pharmacy and they told me it had to be compounded. Went to the compounding pharmacy and they told me it didn't need to be compounded. The tube I got from the doc was already made up..so I am guessing the pharacist didn't know it was pre made. I will be calling this afternoon to try and find it.
