Fill up your GAS TANK

If you are not aware of this I thought that I would let you know. Did you all know that gas is expected to be over $5/gal this afternoon. I went to get gas as my car was on empty and the gas pumps was empty. The lady was telling me when they got gas this afternoon that is what the price would be. I had to go to another store that I don't usually shop at to fill up. This is totally uncalled for. I don't usually talk about our government but they should put a stop to this. If you need gas you better get it soon.

By the time I left the office to go get gas, which was about 2 hours, gas had gone up .20.  I called JOhn and told him to fill up the truck.  It had gone up .40 when he went.  Two of the stations are out of regular gas here.  This is rediculous.  Our country needs to uncap some fuel.

When the neighbor called and told me this i could not believe it so  I called our little store down from the house and she verified it. I am not one that complains when the price goes up as we have to have it but this time I am upset. I think they need to release some out of reserve. The storn will not last that long.

I think that they should have to wait and see IF the hurricane even affects the oil refineries (as far as damamge is concerned) before raising prices. The rifinery in the area it is expected to hit only holds 20% of the reserve. Is that really eough to cause gas prices to sore to over $5.00 per gallon???? Americans are getting ripped my friends!

I agree - I noticed at lunch that every station on Quintard has gone to $3.99....who knows what it'll be tomorrow.  Of course, I need to fill up - but I figure I've got a little more than 1/4 of a tank...and if I get to empty and there is no gas to buy - then guess what?  I'll stay home.  Honestly, I think that would do more good than anything - for us to start staying HOME more.  As long as they can spike the prices like this, and cause this uproar (they actually had to call in the police in Roanoke yesterday b/c the crowds were so bad)....but as long as they can cause this uproar, and make us rush out & pay whatever price they want, then we're part of the problem.

Just my 2 cents worth......have a great weekend everybody!

What's going on that's causing gas prices to go up so much?  My head must be in the sand today because I didn't know anything about it.

Hurricane Ike apparently interrupted oil production in the Gulf - like every OTHER hurricane hasn't, lol????    maybe it's not an issue in your area...if so, you're lucky.

Like I said, I think it's merely an excuse for them to gouge us some more.  I put it in the same category with stores that up the price of water and wood when people are preparing for hurricanes.

I agree with you Lisa. The gas that will go into the tanks has already been paid for by the company that is filling the tank. So the price of gas should not go up now but maybe later on down the road. Where is our government? I thought there was a law about price gouging.

My DH just called me here at work and told me that gas prices in Tennessee and around Cullman here in Bama are already over $5.00 a gallon.  They had truckers reporting the increase.  And of course like the most of us... have to fill up... whi*****ludes me as well.... This is so rediculous... Can't make anything from working because of having to pay for this pricey gas.

What the ?    I took the girls to the PE class this morning and within one hour, our local gas had gone up .30 cents.  I filled up at 3.69 a gallon and within two hours it was 3.99.  This is a pile of !!!!  Looks like it's arts and crafts time at our house. I refuse to get out and go when gas is that expensive so we will hole up and have fun at home this weekend.  This is ridiculous.
