My thyroid Doc does not want me to have this surgery. I needed a letter from him that said I was taking my meds. His nurse justed called me and said that they were fixing a Paper to say that BUT (yeah theres a But) he thought we decided to wait 2 more months I said NO Way !!!! If he sends a letter telling them I am on my meds and states he wants to wait do ya think the Bariatric doc will postpone it !! 
Oh my sweet Angelette. I don't know what to tell you except, the doctors are probably just trying to get your thyroid stable before surgery. I hope that's it anyway. Hopefully, they will see fit to go ahead. I know you are frustrated. I am praying that God will move in this matter and do what needs to be done in your life.

I'm sorry you are going through this but it will work out the way it is supposed to. Why does your dr. not want you to have this surgery? I have been on thyroid meds. for a few years now and it was never an issue with my WLS. I still take my Synthorid everyday and so far so good. I hope you find out something soon. The waiting is the hard part but even if you have to wait 2 more months it will be worth the wait in the long run.

If the surgeon only requests a letter stating that you are on Thyroid medications....and he has already scheduled your surgery date. I am ALMOST positive he will go ahead with the surgery. When we schedule surgeries (orthopaedic) we do sometimes request clearance from Cardiology or Primary but it is ultimately the Surgeon who decides he will or will not proceed. So....we are just going to believe that your surgeon will make up his own mind and proceed with YOUR BEST INTERESTS in mind!

Keeping you in my prayers my friend. YOU are HIS patient and YOU pay HIM! I'm gonna pray that God moves on his heart to accept the fact that you want this surgery. I'm with Gail. He may not have your best intrest at heart. Dr.s are great, but they don't know it all like they think they do. I have had both hips broken and a rod in my leg with pins, bolts and screws. Even wear a leg brace. I had a Dr. tell me once to buy some inline skates and I would lose weight. I told him he was crazy!!
