I had surgery about 1.5 months ago. I was playing Basketball and I jumped to get a rebound. When I jumped I felt a pop about fout or five inches below my right nipple. I was in severe pain for about three minutes and now am feeling much better. Has anyone flet a similar pain or do you think I should go to the hospital to get checked. The only problem with going to the Hispital is I live in Tuscaloosa and DCH is not the best hospital and I doubt if they have seen a RNY patient before.

I don't really know what to tell you to do but maybe you should get it checked out. Not to be mean but at 1.5 months out, should you be playing basketball at this point? Did your doctor approve you to play? You should go to your doctor just to be sure.

Hi,

Yes you should talk to a Doctor.  I am not one but I know a thing or two about anatomy.  It could be something very simple like cartilige between the ribs, but, do you really want to take that chance when your only a month and a half out. My 1st answer is always, "If it concerns you enough to ask, then it concerns me enough to say seek out professional medical advice."

Blessings,

Hi Bama,
I hope you called your surgeon last night. I know his office wasnt opened but they have answering service..and the surgeon oncall will call you back. That could tell you if you needed to be seen in the ER. Please keep us updated on yourself. Praying for you my friend. So sorry I am late responding!
Love,
Michele
