Gustav did us no harm (so far)

We were ready but we never lost power.  Our son Tim came over Sat. night and checked out our generator.  Of course it would not start.  He worked for a long time and then discovered the gas had gone bad.  It is the same gas we put in 2 years ago when we bought it.  He drained all of that out and put new in.  It started right up.  He then made sure we had cords for everything.  He even fixed us a cord to run a window AC.  Jimmy has such a hard time breathing and Tim knew he would need it.  I am just so thankful that all that was not needed.  I just pray all the others will be as mild.  So glad all of our OH family is well.  Or rather the ones we have heard from.

Hey my friend!  I'm so glad you and Bro. Jimmy are safe.  So sweet of Tim to make sure you guys would be ok.  I can sure tell he loves his momma and daddy!

Please please pray for my Sister and her DH.  They are in the middle of storm and are getting hit hard right now!  They are still rebuilding their new home from the last hurricane.  I'm praying Psalms 91 over everyone!

Love ya so much!

Where is your sister? Is this Deborah?  I remember you telling us they were rebuilding but I forgot where they are.  We will be sure to pray.  The tropics are really getting active.  I think we need to keep the prayers going up for everyone.  We were at a little country church yesterday.  The pastor is an 82 year old lady.  She is amazing.  She said someone asked her how she was getting ready for the storm.  She told them she was praying.  But she said she did not just start when the storm came.  She was praying all along.

This is Hazel and her DH, Doug.  They live 30 minutes from Lake Charles in Orange, TX.  Rita wiped them out totally.  I posted pics when they got hit.

I would LOVE to meet this 82 year old pastor!  WOW!!  Pastoring at that age!  I admire her!

I have only heard you and Mary talk about Alicia and Deborah.  How many more siblings do you have?  I guess we will get to meet them all in a few days!!  I have family in Lake Charles.  We had family reunions while my mother was living but now that she is gone, as well as many of the older ones, no one gets reunions planned.  I have not seen this family in a while.  I guess I need to get off my duff and plan something.

Sister Maxine is something else.  She still drives and they plant a garden every year. Her husband is 84.  She told us yesterday that they have 7 freezers.  Some of her guts and glory needs to be passed on to some of our younger generation.  Oh shoot.  Some of it needs to be passed on to ME!!!
