Do You Know HIM??
Okay,
So I'm doing my morning bible reading and I'm in Acts..Chapter 19.
Reading about the seven sons of Sceva. So these guys were full of there own desire to be important and decided they would attempt to cast out spirits like Paul.
So they go to this dud who's possesed. They begin to speak to the devil and in their most eloquent speech...adjure him to come out in the name of the one Paul preaches of. Can you imagine????They have no idea who JESUS really is. Now I can just see that devil saying..."You big dummies...I'm gonna beat you down based on your stupidity alone" "I know who Jesus is and I know who Paul is...." So they get beat up and run out into the streets naked. Now in my own mind (not biblical in any way) I flash to Paul and I can just hear him.....
"YEAH....That was REAL SMART, You all go ahead and try that again!" "If you don't know him you really shouldn't throw his name around."
Anyway that just made me chuckle to think about that.
It also made me think that so many throw around the name of Jesus and they have no real understanding of who he is or what he has and will do for us. He loves us so much and we give him so little Praise.
If you can take a moment just give him a little Praise today. Without requesting anything Just say "Thank you Lord".
