I just talked to Julie

She said they did not evacuate when they announced the mandatory evacuation.  She said that by the time they announced the mandatory evacuation, the traffic was like a parking lot going out of Gulf Shores and there was no need for them to sit on the highway.  They are prepared as far as food and water go.  The winds have picked up to about 25 mph and they still have power.  She is upbeat about everything and says God is going to protect them.  Please pray for Julie and her family and all of the others along the Gulf and in Mississippi and New Orleans.

I will be praying for them and all the people that live down that way. I am scared of storms myself. I would be in all of that traffic hopefully first!!!Ellen

I have been on pins and needles all day as Brandi and her family is only hour and half from New Orleans. I was so ready to head that way today and bring the boys back with me but she said they had not been told to do anything yet. Brandi is ready to leave if she needs to. The live very close to where 55 stops going south bound.
