florence and surrounding areas
ok so i know that lots of people have support groups in their areas and are able to attend these meetings and get help from people "irl" as opposed to the internet but unfortunately, there is no such animal in my area (that i can find anyway) so i was wondering if anybody in this area would like to start a get-together of pre and post-ops of all surgery types? once a month maybe? i am not an official "group leader" or anything but i just thought it might be nice to be able to get together with like-minded people sometimes and share our successes and our troubles. anybody? beuller? beuller? Rebecca Bellamy used to lead a support group that met at in Center Star....near Rogersville. That one, if they are still meeting would be fairly close to you---by comparison to Huntsville or Birmingham.
I am not sure if anyone picked up and carried on after Becky quit going or not--but you may want to check into that. I think...THINK, it may have been at Center Star Church of Christ or at a Baptist Church there. I know it was at a church because I went to a couple of the meetings, but I don't recall exactly which church it was at...Becky did the driving...I was along for the ride.
Hopefully someone carried on with the group, but unfortunatley, I think a LOT of things got dropped by the wayside when Becky stepped back and some things may not have been continued.
Anyway, it may be something for you to look into.

YES Louise, you should have known. I have a high standard of integrity that I have set for myself and I DO NOT LIE. I take offense to someone who would imply that I do. AND--if you knew it would come to this, why did you not do as we agreed in the past and NOT POST TO EACH OTHERS POST? I do not need YOUR clarification of anything that I may say. I am perfectly capable of speaking for my ownself.
You have one view of how things have gone since Becky left this board and I have another. I am not going to tell you that your opinions equate to lies---but I will state my views without saying yours is not the truth.
This board has NOT been the same since Becky left and a lot of support that USED to be here is no longer here.
I have had enough people tell me of the backstabbing you have done of me over the years that I would not begin to care to call you to listen to you badmouth others.
What I will say to you publically Louise, is that if you think Becky and the things she did were bad or inappropriate, you should have spoken up long before you did. You were a supposed friend to Becky and then when things happened, you started talking about things and saying you were a witness to this and to that. Well if you were a witness and sat back and watched things happen that you felt were wrong...YOU WERE JUST AS WRONG AS ANYONE ELSE by not standing up for what was right at that time! You were as much a part of any of those actions as anyone else by your INACTION!
I have no desire to call you and listen to you try to taint my views on what may or may not have happened.
My confidence in you in less than zero because of the fact that you have been two faced on more than one occasion and I have no reason to trust you. I may know way more than you think I know. I am not the sheep that is easily led to slaughter. I am a fair person who tries to look at all aspects of things before making a decison but when that decision has been made, I know I have made it as an informed decision.
SO---once again Louise, I say to you that if you knew you were going to get to this point with this, why did you make your post to begin with. I think your desire to stir the pot is overwhelming and you just don't have the self control to keep yourself from doing it.
People ask where the posters have gone and where the support is---well, the support has left with a lot of the people that left....There are still some good people here and for those people, they are the ones that keep me coming back here---but there are those like you that do nothing but try and stir controversy--and because of people like you-- a lot of others have left.
