I am "TUBELESS!"

hi everyone!  got the two drains removed today....as soon as I sat up from the table i could tell a HUGE difference!  like a relief!  The one on the right didnt hurt at all, just felt weird....the left one hurt just a little...and i knew it probably would because i've had a little pain on that side, plus they said that is the side that gets the most work done...but there was a nurse on each side of me and they counted to three and told me to exhale....was fast!

just wanted to drop in. 

we went by walmart and I bought just a few soft protien items on my list.  OH, and went by cracker barell after the dr....had my first meal....i asked them to scramble me one egg with a little cheese on top, and to not use grease or oil....just like pam spray or something similar and they said no problem....it sat well with me...i only ate half of one scrambled egg and was full....sure tasted good!  I ate less than 2 oz of refried beans tonight.  I think i've had 122 calories today.  But my first day.

thanks again to everyone here for being so nice to me!

oh and Carmen, that little journal book you gave me, i'm using it to keep track as of today of what i eat and my protien etc.

Congratulations Donna on getting those drains out. I am so glad that your first meal was so good. I sure wish I had remembered that you were going to be at the office I would have run up for a minute. Maybe the next time you come over to Dr. Freemans office I can go up and see you. If you need anything please let us know.

WAY TO GO!!!!

Oh Donna...I know that you must feel so much better now.  I know it's silly, but when I make up the bags and baskets, I like to put journals in them because they sure did help me.  You take care and take it easy.  If you need me for anything, I am just a phone call away. 

Donna, congratulations on becoming tubeless!  WOW, my surgeon wouldn't allow real food for nearly three weeks.  Wish I could eat scrambled eggs.  Even at four years post-op, they still come back up.

Hi Donna,Good to hear you have no more tubes,I didnt have those so I cant relate ,but Im glad your removal went well.Gosh you eating scrambled eggs already,,Im almost 2 yrs out still cant do scrambled eggs,only fried.Be careful,chew,chew,chew,remember small bites..3 weeks I was still on broth,jello,popcicles,tablespoon of smooth peanut butter,eaten like a lolli pop.KFC mashed potataoes,then Taco bells refried beans..Take care you will do good..Juju  I sent you a PM some time back.
