13 year old having GBP Thursday!

Hey everyone! It has been along time since I have been on. My niece is 13 and having GBP
Thursday. Please pray for her. I am sooo worried about her. She is so young and I know
it is going to be hard for her. I just went to her house, the British Broadcasting Company is
doing a documentary on her. They wanted to interview me about my surgery. She is having it
done at childrens Hospital, My Dr. (Dr. Clements) is doing her surgery.

Our prayers will be with her.  She is SO YOUNG.  I've never heard of anyone that young having the surgery before.  I did know someone 17 once.  Beautiful girl..... lost all her weight, got to goal, got her plastics done, got married and was tragically killed in an automobile accident shortly after marrying.  I will forever remember sweet Carolyn.  I watched her grow up her entire life, being made fun of and ridiculed.  Kids (and adults) can be so mean.  I wish much success for your neice.

I new Carolyn also, very sweet girl from a great family.  Her dad is our Sunday School teacher.
I have never heard of someone so young having this surgery at 13...What co-morbidity's does she have to warrant this surgery at 13?
I will pray for her success and her safety....

Lisa!!  This is wonderful!!  Even if she IS so young!  It gives me HOPE!  My nephew is 12 and over 300 lbs!  My sister wants him to have the surgery, but is scared because he is so young.  He is diabetic and can't hardly walk 30 steps w/o hastling for his breath!  I can not wait to tell her about Dr. Clements doing your niece's surgery!  I'll be praying for her!

Hi Randall, It is great to see you are doing good. My niece goes to a Dr. at Children's Hospital. I will find out his name for you. He is assisting Dr. Clements in the surgery. I think they got Dr. Clements to do it because he has such a great rep. in Alabama. I think she is the 2nd youngest
to have it done. She is 5'8" and over 300. The British Broadcasting company is doing a documentary on her, it could be on in the U.S. also. We won't know that for awhile. I am scared for her to have it, but I think it will be a good thing for her. I will keep your nephew in my thoughts and prayers. Take Care

Thank you Lisa!  It sure is good to see you posting again!  Thanks for getting me the Dr.s name.  I will pass it on to my Sister.  My mom had the surgery last October and has lost 80 lbs.  She is in a size 14 now from a 22-24.  She is so happy!
