Please pray..more bad news

Those of you that read my post on Thursday, we lost a local police office in a traffic accident. He was only 100 yards from his destination! He was on his motorcycle heading to the funeral home to escort a funeral when a car pulled out in front of him making a left hand turn at a RIGHT turn only location. Rob's wake is tonight so I'll be going.

This morning the phone rang and it was the owner of the RIDE school, Joe.  The secretary wa**** yesterday while riding her motorcycle. Thank GOD she is alive.  She has a few broken bones and road rash, but OK.

Please prayer for Joe he sounded so sad.  He is teaching in Chicago for 8 weeks and was not able to find another instructor to fill in for him to come home for Rob's funeral.  Rob took over the job Joe had for numerous years when Joe retired several months back.

My heart is so heavy and only wish I could do more for all involved, but all I can do is PRAY!

Please spread the word to watch for motorcycles while driving. As we drive cars we tend to "look through" an oncoming motorcycle and focus only on cars.

Hugs,
Beth

Beth,

Sometimes there are no words to be said. I didn't know Rob and yet my heart is heavy for his family and friends.

I'm so sorry to hear about the secretary as well and will be praying that she will be fine.

Leo and I went riding yesterday and I was so much more aware of how little attention is paid to motocyclists. I'm sure its not intentional but somehow we have got to make drivers more aware of everything around them.

I'm still praying for you. I know this has been hard. I'm sending hugs your way.

Love,
DebbieDoo

DebbieDoo,
I am glad you are riding again. I've not been on a bike in over a week, but MAYBE Saturday/Sunday I can go to the track to ride.

I finally talked to Jenny, the secretary, on the way home last night and she told me that she was going to the track to check on equipment they leave there since strong storms had come through earlier that day.  She hit a deep pothole and when she came out of it she hit gravel and it put her down. THANK GOD I TOTALLY MISUNDERSTOOD JOE.  I was telling my friend I guess I was still half asleep when he called and must have been talking about Rob.

The wake last night was VERY long. I bet there was over a thousand people there. We got there at 4:15pm and the wake wasn't supposed to start until 5pm and run until 7pm, and the line was SO long. We got just inside the building and my friend had to leave because his Lt. needed him to return to the office. I stayed and it took me a little over TWO hours to make it all the way through to the family. The line was even longer as I left and MORE people were pouring in.

The funeral is at 11am, which I can't go because of having to have my TB skin test read at 11:30am, but Rob's prosession started at 8:30am...WOW

I wish I could attend the funeral, but I have other obligations with getting prepared for school, like this TB skin test.  I'm sure the funeral will so moving and I pray I never have to experience this again.

Thanks for praying for all of us it is greatly appreciated.

Love,
Beth
