We love Dollywood.  We go everytime we go to Pigeon Forge.  It never gets old.  Wear comfortable shoes and clothes and have a ball!!!  If you are staying for several days go to Black Bear Jamboree and Dixie Stampede.  There are lots of other things to do but these are our favorites!!  Take lots of pictures and share with us.

OK- You wrote the greatest question!!!!!  These are the replies from my girls:

Sydney: "Dollywood is the bestest place ever. It is where Hannah Montana's godmother lives. The little cars are the best. My favorite ride is the Shooting Star and the swings and the Water rides. My dad got really wet and was mad but we all laughed anyway.  When are we going back, Mommy?"

Sophie:  "Are we going to Dollywood?"  (Mom says, "No, but my friend is taking her little girl") Sophie storms off mad.

She comes back and I ask her again. She says, " I want to go to Dollywood. It is good. I like the rides and got lemonade in a water bottle and it was fun. I love the rollercoaster (Veggie Tales ride).  I want to go back. NOW!!!

So, there ya have it. We took the girls in May and it really was one of the best vacations we had together. It was not that expensive. We purchased our tickets after 3pm and got in the next day for free. We spent both times there until it closed. The shows were awesome esp. the bird expo. with the eagles. The rides were fun for all ages and the attendants were really nice. We went during a school day and had NO WAIT on the rides. It was very clean. I out rate Dollywood way ahead of Six Flags.
Have fun! We cannot wait to go back.
Love, Nanci

I totally agree with Nanci's comment with Dollywood being one of the best places to visit... We too each year visit Pigeon/Gatlinburg for vacationing and always go there.. When you have children of different ages as me and my DH have.. 13 & 4 1/2 it's really hard to please them both.. but with Dollywood, there's something exciting for all ages...  And I do recomment the Dixie Stampede.. The whole family will Love it.. and the food's good too...! I've only been to six flags 1 time and that was like over 25 years ago.. so make your plans & head on up to the mountains.... Recommend all the sites up there.... Dollywood, Dixie Stampede, Commedy Barn, Lift Chairs (Gatlinburg), & any of the shows..

Tell Sophie and Sydney maybe next spring we girls can ALL go together. Alyssa does not know about it. Last year we spent almost 300 on a pool party and I am just not willing to do that when we can go away for a long weekend for the same price ( yep I got two nights for 79 dollars and yep I knew about the after 3 ticket deal...LOL). It is funny Alyssa's birthday is the ninth of October which starts fall break.....so thank the girls for their advice. Alyssa is Dolly Partons nu,ber one fan under 50. She knows all the songs and sings them in her high heels and her "painted on" jeans....Okay back to being a bored Mommy looking for a job.

Hi girl. What do you do in Special Education?  Teacher or Para?  It would seem like there would be jobs in SPE.  I know we had openings for 3 teachers this year.  They are all filled now.  I am SPE secretary.

In everything there is a lesson, the one here is....well I don't know yet I do know I am NOT I repeat NOT a patient person.

Hmm...maybe thats the lesson.

Is Hicksville, GA close enough to Hicksville, AL that you could come to Alabama and teach?  I know there is so much politics everwhere.  I don't think it is fair in any system.  I hope you can find a job soon.  Keep us posted.

Not sure how old your kids are I have a 10 yr old. We went to Gatlinburg in June and spent 4 days we didn't even make it to Dollywood there was so much other stuff to do. I had not been in a few years and things have really grown. We did do Dixie Stampede but my son really liked the Ripley's stuff. I even enjoyed the Ripley's believe it or not.  It is the largest collection of the ripleys believe it or not in the us. I was surprised by that I though Orlando or somewhere like that would be the largest. We are a military family and you can get really cheap prices on the tickest to all ripley's stuff if you get a package.  So if you are military or know someone who is tell them to ask about it. When I have lost 100 LBS I have promised my son we will go white water rafting and ride up the mountain on the tram. He wants to do that so bad but I am way to overweight right now. Hopefully by this time next year. (Crossing  fingers and toes) Y'all have fun!!!!!
