Ya'll please pray for Tara (Nikki22) and send positive thoughts. The arm where her IV was is very sore, swollen, red and a little warm to the touch. We have a call in to the doctor.

I'll say a prayer for her. Mine did that too, hurt for several weeks, but no blood clot thank goodness!

Hers is actually above the elbow kind of in that area on the back side of the arm. It's a comfort to know others have had something like this and it turned out okay.

Could it be a blown vein? My last visit resulted in a blown vein on my left arm. I had the same symptoms.
Anyhow, will be keeping her in my thoughts and prayers.

Kay,

You and Tara are in my thoughts and prayers. We have had a few of our patients get blood clots at the IV site. We have them elevate the arm and use warm compresses. This seems to do the trick, but of course listen to the advice of your doctor.

Please let us know how Tara is doing.
