Update

The doctor called and we described the problem.  He said he had seen that several times and it sounded like a superficial clot (not the kind that can break loose and travel somewhere bad).  We are to put heat to it 3 times a day, keep it elevated, and give her a small dose of motrin (yeah, I know).  We will give her extra protonix as well.  He said if it had not resolved or improved in a day or so to call him back.

Yikes that scared me when i saw the title of the other post!  I'm glad to hear that the doctor feels it should resolve on its own.  I dealt with a blood clot when i had a PICC placed and going through all the shots and blood thinner stuff was not fun but thank goodness everything turned out okay.

Hope Tara feels better soon!

I know!  The area in question is kind of on the back side of her arm above the elbow so it's not really AT the IV site.  Her IV was in the forearm kinda between her elbow and wrist. Sigh.  I hope it resolves on it's own!

Thanks for the update Kay. I was hoping to hear something before I headed into work.

Thank you Randall.  Yes, please keep the prayers coming.  We want this to resolve on it's own.  If these steps don't improve it she will have to be seen.
