WL? re: Clothes
I am having a hard time getting rid of my BIG clothes. I know I can no longer wear them but in the past when I would loss weight, I would gain it back and need them. Now that I know I CANNOT wear them and chances are (I pray) will never be able to wear them, I cannot seem to disconnect from them. Did anyone have this problem?
At what point were any of you when you gave yourself permission to give away your big clothes and start buying the smaller sizes? Did you have a hard time too?
Grant it, I am a bit of a thifty person and try to save and reuse things. I still wear some of my big clothes and they just hang off (or fall off ) so I know I need a change.
I have to admit, I never thought it would be a psychological struggle to let go, yet, here I am.

I know it's hard, but get rid of them! It is a very freeing feeling. I started getting rid of things about 6 months after my surgery little by little. There are people out there who need them. Alter or have altered what you can if you want. A year after my surgery I had a "Plus Size Clohing Sale" (didn't call it a yard sale) where I got rid of the bulk of what I had left. This helps you with your clothing fund and also helps others as it is a way they can get things affordably. I had so many people come who I could tell could not afford to shop at the mall. We don't like to get rid of our "stuff", yet there are others who have very little in the way of "stuff" that we can help out. Do the Nike thing and just do it!

Gurley, I'm having the same problem. As of this week, I ran an add in our local paper and have had alot of calls but no one yet to drop in to see them and take them away.. I'm having a hard time letting go as well.. I've been in 22/24 for so long that's it's hard to let go.. but I know I've got too cuse I can wear them anylonger.... But with me gaining 2.5 ilbs and only 5 months since my surgery.. I'm scared that I just might need them... I pray I wont... So we've got to LetGO!...
Another secret I will tell you.. I am a VERY thrifty person and would always try to find things at thrift stores etc. but couldn't find any big enough to buy.. Now that I am smaller I find all kind of stuff on sale everywhere.. You don't have to pay extra for the extra material any more!! I find deals on MY SIZE for a change!!!! And let me tell you it SURE does boost your confidence to go into Old Navy or Ross and walk up to the sales rack and not only do they have your size they have several in your size and you don't know which one to buy!!!!!!!
Try it!!!! ITS SOOO

Thank you for the replys. I LOVE the Thrift store and I am fortunate that I live less than 4 miles away from a HUGE one. I did find some great buys at Ross the other day. Gloria Vanderbilt jeans in size 16 and they FIT- cost $5.99!!! Wearing that size hasn't happened in 20 years!!! So, I will give it time and as Kay said...
Just Do It!!!
For every sack of clothes I donate, I will give myself permission to purchase!
