Remember beans

Remember beans and peas are a excellent protein. 10 grams  for a half cup. I was thinking about supper tonight and remembered old fashion pea patties. So if fixed up a batch and thats what I had for supper. They were as good as I remembered.
Simply take a can of blackeye peas put them in the food processor until smooth. Add an egg and a little flour, salt and pepper. You can pan fry using cooking spray or place in the oven and bake, then brown. I just plain fried mine and drained good. You use a potato masher and make them a little corser. Add chopped onion, bell pepper. Add a little sage and you will think you are eating sausage. Without the fat. Can be topped with grated cheddar cheese, fat free sour cream or salsa. Doesn't have to be peas can use pinto, northern or any other that suits your fancy.
