The training I got with R.I.D.E. was a full weekend! Saturday the class began at 8am, broke for lunch for an hour, then back to the course until 5pm. On Sunday the class began at 7am and we finished up with "graduation" around 4pm. All the instructors (that I am aware of) are police officers and have gone through various training in their careers with Joe, the owner of R.I.D.E. I know my friend that put me through the course is a police officer and was trained by Joe. Actually, the weekend I attended the class Joe hired my friend as an instructor. He was so excited because this is a dream come true! It was so sweet to see my friend at his retirement ceremony a few months ago when he thanked the chief of police for alowing him to stay at ONE police department his whole 25 year career with the city of Biloxi. The cutest part was when he thanked him for allowing him to let him do two things he loved...being a police officer and a motorcop. I mean jeez...drive around most all day on a HARLEY and get paid for it.

Family members do worry but as I told mine I can get injured in a car too.  As long as one is properly trained to handle most any situation on their motorcycle then go have fun and enjoy their motorcycle.

Keep us posted on the "thinking" about a motorcycle
