Question about BCBS of AL

I have BCBS/PEEHIP. In the policy, it states that as part of the physician supervised diet that there must be a "dietitian consultation." Has anyone using this insurance had to see a nutritionist? Or is the dietitian consultation covered if the physician provides nutritional counseling? I called BCBS and talked to a rep and he told that the physician would provide it during the appointments. But he didn't sound very confident. Am I making this harder than it really is?

I figured I had to see a nutritionist. Did you see them once or every month as well?

I have the same insurance you do and I had  to see a nutritionalist. I still have to see them once a year and I'm four years out. I go in each year and they pat me on the back and say well done. For each two steps you take you will seem to go one step back. But you will eventually get to the end of the hoops you have to jump thru. I can only tell you it's well worth all the stuff we have to go thru to get the surgery. Love, Miss Mary

I thought there was a difference between "dietitian consultation" and "dietary consultation" Thank you. I'm trying to get any problems out of the way before they get too big.
