Newbie from Mobile, Alabama!

Hello!

My name is Scotty and I am from Mobile, Alabama. I just attended the seminar for the Realize Lapband and I am very interested in this procedure.

I have a coworker that recently had this done and everyone has been very impressed on how successful he has been with his weight loss. So much so that two coworkers and myself are interested in having the procedure done.

I am hoping to speak with others and get as much infomation as possible on the procedure.

My first doctors appointment will be on August 21.

Hi Scotty.  My name is Debbie and I live in Chatom. Welcome to the Bama Board.  Lots of great support here and lots of fun also.   We have a support group which meets at Providence Hospital the third Tuesday of the month if you are interested.  I am not sure if there will be an August meeting because of one of the leaders being away but Connie (Teal Rose) will post info about the meeting.  Again, welcome.

Welcome to the Alabama Board..it's great to have you!!  I have heard GREAT things about the Relize Band. Congrats on making a decision for a healthier life!!  I had RNY (Gastric Bypass) 7/27/06..WLS (I just had my 2 surgiversary last week)  It was one of the best things I have ever done for myself and my health. I am from Gulf Shores! Just right over the Bay.

I Had my RNY in January 2006 in Mobile at Providence. Where is your first doctor's appt?
Just curious if it's with Dr. Weinstein...

There are great local support groups in Mobile.. the one at Providence is AWESOME and well we have one here in Baldwin County too.
I have a very good friend that just had lapband in Mobile and she's done well. She just had her 2nd fill and is looking and feeling great.

My first appointment is with Dr. Hannon at Mobile Infirmary on August 21st. I am still gathering a lot of info on it but I know that I want to proceed with the surgery. I have heard that the support groups were great and I hope that I can join one of them.

Hi Scotty,

I also have HBP and I had lap band in Mobile with Dr. Weinstein on May 12. All the problems I had associated with my HBP have vanished. Good Luck with this new decison you have made. I am good friend with Julie and I am the friend she talked about. So you have any questions just ask.
