My Surgery

Well, it's official, I have surgery on August 12th. I will have at least 1 week in the hospital & a 6-8 week recovery time.

What my final dx is, explains alot of problems I have been having for years & even though my sister told me I was gonna die if I have this surgery, my Dr assures me, I will lead a normal healthy life. (my sister has never told me I look good after WLS. The only thing she has had to say is...let me see your scars (after TT & Breast reduction/lift). Her ONLY comment from our family pics was that I look too thin & sick now. I KNOW deep down it is jealousy, but doesn't hurt any less)

The powers that be may not let Mike come home to be with me, so I will be doing this on my own. The hospital is about an hr & 1/2 from my home, so Braden will not be able to come see me. His friend Pacman will be taking me to & from the hospital. A friend of mine may be taking off work the day of surgery. Guess I'll have to be a big girl, huh.

I have to admit, I am dealing with depression lately. Mike has been offered a pretty good deal, back in Alabama, for when he retires. I will go where he chooses, as he is the one who will have to go to the job he chooses, everday. I had my heart set on going back home, but if it is meant to
be......

More than likely, I won't be on much in the next month or so. I hope everone else is doing great & has a great end of the summer.

I am having I will be having a Laproscopic Sigmoid Resection & a Rectopexy. Basically, they will be removing a major part of my Sigmoid Colon & then lifting everthing, to make sure it does not "fall" again.

I have several "issues"

1st is I have Obstructive constipation, this results in a Volvulus colon.

2nd I also have what is considered a Mechanical Obstruction (Sigmoidocele)

3rd I may have Anismus, I started treatement for this & it made my symptoms worse, so we stopped this.

I also have an Enterocele. They Sigmoidocele & Enterocele, from my understanding is a prolapse of my intestines through my vaginal wall.

There is actually more, but I cannot explain it all. I've looked it all up & it's no fun!

Im sorry you have so much wrong with you.  I hope they get you fixed up and you are feeling better soon.  Maybe all will be better when your husband finally gets home.  You are in my prayers.

We'll begin to pray NOW that your hubby will be allowed to be with you during this surgery...and if that's not in His plan, then we'll  pray for extra comfort and healing for you.    I'll also pray for someone  to be with you during this surgery and recovery - not only unseen angels, but an Angel of a friend who can help you out.   I can't imagine going thru that sort of situation alone.   

It's so hard to comprehend the plan in everything - and tho His ways are mysterious, they are always filled with what's best for us as His children.

Thank you Lisa. I have been in contact with my PCP's nurse & since he is a Military Dr, he may be able to get the Red Cross message approved. My Hubby's Commander has given us a little information on how to help get it approved.

They have denied several other people emergency leave, but my Hubby has his Commander & his 1st Sgt on his side. The (I *think* )CSM) has the final say & he is a hard, miserable man. He even eats alone, because no one likes him & he is fine with that.

I do thank God for Denise, she is gonna try & take the day off & I didn't even ask her. Her hubby is also deployed & it was her BIL I had asked for prayers for a while back.

Again, Thank you Lisa, it means alot for you to pray for me!

I am continuing my prayers for you and Mike.
I want you to know that you are NOT alone and that you are in God's arms..if Mike doesn't get to make it home for your surgery I know that Our Father will take good care of you!

I also pray you get to come back to Alabama! If it's meant  for you and Mike to come home then God will open that door, he will bring you back. I know he is in complete control and I pray for his protection over you and your family.

Thank you Julie. I do know that I am not alone, but I sure wish he could come sit with me & hold my hand! lol.

Actually by home, I meant Texas, but more & more I am feeling like that is not home anymore. As long as I have Mike by my side, I can make anywhere my home. If he takes the job in Alabama, he will not deploy. If he takes the job with Rolls Royce, he will deploy & move with the units. I know the only reason he wants to do that is, if he deploys, it is more than double the money. I am not one to stress over money, but he is so worried about providing for our future, he is driving himself crazy. I do think he will end up taking the Alabama job, as he loved working there & really likes & respects his coworkers. Besides, Alabama keeps upping the salary offer, they REALLY want him!! lol

Right now, my cell has died, I should hopefully be getting a new one within the week, depends on how long it takes in the mail.
