Vitamins 4 Years After Surgery
Hi, I had my weight loss surgery nearly 4 years ago with Dr. Miles at what is now St. Vincent's East. I purchased a multitude of vitamins and supplements from the pharmacy which added up to a small fortune. After a while I had to go to a cheaper method so I visited Walmart. Up until about 4 months ago, I had chronic anemia with associated tiredness, chronic reflux and periodic hair loss, kinda similar to what took place shortly after surgery causing me to have to take prescription supplements. I found a vitamin (recommended by another gastric bypass patient) that is a little pricey but less than the pharmacy options that has enabled me to come off the prescriptions and has stopped my hair loss and greatly reduced my reflux. I feel better with this vitamin than any other single or combination vitamin I have tried. Sometimes something may cost a little more but has great benefits. Here is where I found the vitamin: http://www.karensummerlin.vitamark.com. Here you can see all the ingredients (I think about 53 in all). Another side benefit is that because my physical hunger needs seem to be better satisfied with this vitamin, I no longer have to fight as many urges to snack (which will always be a part of my make-up). This is just a suggestion. Everyone needs to use what makes them feel better. Has anyone else experienced similar conditions a few years after surgery? How did you deal with it?
