Hot and sweating after eating

Anyone have any idea what might be causing me to be extemely hot after eating.  It gets to the point where I actually sweat (and not a cold sweat).  It happens no matter what I eat, but I am wondering if it's related to the carbs (which I do try to limit).

You may be having a mild case of dumping.  This happens to me if the food is too high in carbs or if I eat a little too much sometimes.

I agree with them.  I have done this before when I ate too much carbs.  It is a yucky feeling.

You are dumping my friend, I do it too.  I do it with certain foods or if I eat too much or too fast (usually too fast leads me down the road to the foamies but sometimes just the hot flashes and sweating).

It is dumping and we all do it sometime or other.  I noticed you are only a few months out so your body is still adjusting to its new situation.  You will probably never get totally over dumping with certain foods but the times should be with fewer foods as time goes on.

The best remedy is to lie down for a few minutes.  Sometimes when I dump it is severe and feels like my heart is about to explode.  The last time this happened was over a year ago and we were in our motorhome in Mederian, MS. in a WalMart  parking lot.  I had eaten some cookies.  I laid down on the sofa and told Brenda if I wasn't better in twenty minutes to call paramedics.  I was OK in about 15.

Usually when I dump I get lethargic and extremely sleepy.  I can sleep it off in about thirty minutes.  I seldom froth but I did at first.  Sometimes dumping is accompanied with a severe need to deficate.  That will usually stop it.

I might add that I am four and a half years out and can pretty much eat anything, within reason.  For some reason Chinese food from a restaurant seems to still make me sick.  I don't know why because I can eat rice anywhere else.  It may be the MSG.

Good luck,

Good morning Sandi!  I am having the same issues but it is after I eat any type of dressing.  Honey mustard, RANCH, vinegar and oil, any type!  Even ketchup!  I'm not sure if it is that or what.  I had a salad last night and the hot and sweating was so embarasing!  Hope you have a great Monday!

I didn't associate it with dumping since I wasn't getting nauseated, vomiting or having an upset stomach.  Just kinda like hot flashes.  Well, if that's dumping, then I need to pay more attention to what I have eaten and re-evaluate.  Maybe I am getting to much sugar or carbs.

Thanks for all the input.  It sure is frustrating.
