I  have not been on in awhile.  I had my surgery 4 1/2 yrs ago and have done great.  But in about the last 6 months or so I have started gaining weight.  Both parents are in poor health.  My husband is recovering from surgery and may need more surgery I have a new grandbaby on the way.  I'm not sleeping at night.  I might at the most get 1 1/2 hours of sleep a night and then work all day.  When I can 't sleep all I want to do is eat even if I'm not hungry.  I used to walk alot but now my legs and calfs hurt so bad I can't get out and walk.  Plus its hard to find the time after taking care of everyone else.  Please help me get back on track.  I'm so ashamed of myself.      Debbie

Debbie,

You have a lot going on and its pretty normal to find yourself turning back to old habits BUT you take control now. Are you in a support group? If not, please try to find one. I would also recommend talking to your doctor about the stress and the sleep problem. You can't function with that amount of sleep. I've gained weight and its simply because of the same reasons - I've been stressed to the max for almost 2 years now. I won't list all of my problems because it would probably make me depressed. I try to focus more on the good things in my life. That grandbaby is going to be a huge blessing for you. Your hubby may need a lot of attention right now but you are the only one who can make time for yourself and that is a must. I'm sure there are other people here who will offer some really good advice. This is a great caring group of people. You'll be in my prayers and please stay in touch.

Love,

Debbie...It is so easy after several years to gain the weight.  However, with all the stress going on in your life, I can thoroughly understand why you are having problems.  Do you like protein shakes and bars?  Maybe that could be a snack if you have to snack.  Also, the 5 day pouch test is a good way to kick start a weight loss.  I hope that things get better for you.
