Welcome to the jorney of a lifetime!!

I had my surgery on Monday Nov 12 2007. I was in the hospital for 2 nights. I did have some pain and nausea but I prayed alot and was able to go back to work the following Monday. The only thing that I will tell you is when I went back to work I was still kinda weak.

Also make sure after surgery if you go ANYWHERE pack your lunch. There is no grabing something quick while your out and about especially for the first few weeks.

I remember how nervous I was but looking back I would do it 10 times over...

It is a wonderful life changing joruney... If I can answer any questions for you let me know.

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome...I'm not as much of an OLDIE as Gwen is!    I'm only 4 1/2 years post op...no where near 7 years.
I just wanted to welcome you.

I guess I was pretty lucky when it came to any pre-op requirements. I didn't have to have any psych evaluations, no diet prior to surgery - all I had to do was fill out the forms, prove that I had tried numerous diets and turn in my paperwork. Back then everything was smooth as could be and I was approved not long after turning in my paperwork. I believe I turned everything in sometime in July and had my surgery in October.

I've not had any complications, never had to be re-hospitilized and the only bad thing to happen to me was when I had rice stuck. I thought I would die. I couldn't eat or drink for 2 days but it did finally go down and everything returned to normal.

I used Dr. Stahl in Alabaster and would recommend him to anyone.
