A GREAT Family Movie!

For those of you with young kids....DH and I took Eryn to see Kit Kittredge: An Amerian Girl last Thursday, and I have to say, it was a real treat!  This is a movie the WHOLE family can watch! There's NO swearing, nothing more risque than a kiss on the hand and the cast is totally charming. A movie (at least one that's not animated) that you can actually take your kids to without worrying about what they'll see is RARE, and this one is a GEM. I hate to sound like a movie critic, but Abigail Breslin, Joan Cusack & Chris O'Donnell were outstanding. Joan Cusack, in particular, was a hoot and a half!  It seemed like every girl in the theater had brought their American Girl dolls (including Eryn), lol.  DH even enjoyed the movie, and he was really dreading it, lol. To quote him "It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be". That's Marty-speak for it was pretty good, lol, and pretty good is a rave review for him.  I highly recommend it, especially for the 5-12 girl group.  Just thought I'd share!

Hugs to All, Donya

Thanks for the tip Donya!  I will tell my sister.  She has two in or close to that age group.

Some moms and I are taking our girl scout troop to see it and my DH wants to go. I think if Hollywood will see that we the people would like to see more movies like this, they would get the hint and make more movies like this.  My 6yo started reading the American Girl books this past weekend to get in the spirit of the movie and she just loves them.

Glad you had fun. I'm excited about seeing it next week with the girls (and DH).

I agree totally.... They really need to make some movies that the entire family can enjoy without worry of the languages and scenes that are not acceptable... With having a 13 year old daughter and 4 1/2 son it's really hard to sit down as a family and watch a movie... so we DONT.
