Chilton County's New English ASL Instructor
Yep, that is my new title and 2nd job (volunteering)! I have been elected by our hispanic community and several hispanic business owners in our are to be the new English ASL Instructor. I start this evening. It will be held at various homes until we can locate a building for our use. Possibly at one of the local hipanic churches. Classes are free to all and can be used as a Spanish learning session as well as the English. These meeting will be held on Thursday or Friday evenings from 6-8pm. Once we have a stable location the dates and times will be set in stone and I will print some flyers up! I am so excited that last night I couldnt even sleep I was up half the night printing out workbooks, lessons, flashcards, ect. We even went last night and bought a mess load of the 1 subject notebooks from Wal-Mart for 10 cents a pieces and I already had a bunch of pencils from when I had my store open!
Can you believe this all started by me helping 2 ladies in their home, my God daughter's, Mariella (I never get the spelling right but this is the right way...lol), momma and her sister-in-law. All I was doing was looking at Wal-Marts advertisments and teaching them the word that went with the picture, then underlineing the word for them to study. Who would have ever know that they would have went adn spoke up for me and asked for me to teach a class
Please pray that I do a good job at this! This is so much fun and very exciting for me!

Actually I dont have many online. I was in the midst of doign just that when my computer needed a good cleaning (it died) so when the fellow went to clean the computer he called me telling me that the virus had gotten into all sorts of things and he had to do a TOTAL recovery. This meant a recovery from all the way back from the day I bought the computer, I lost a ton of stuff....music, photos, programs, ect. Let me go check out my photobucket account and see if there are a few there still!
Be right back!

C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S!!!!
As fluent in spanish as you are have you ever considered becoming a translator at the local hospital? I do know some hospitals pay as much as $70.00 an hour for their services, check into it. I want to know more about your online degree studies too so PM me when you have time. No rush, Im off to go visit with Joni for a few days. Your always in my prayers, and I do hope you are feeling better!! I will tell Joni to contact you, she too, held an English class at her home for hispanics and was teaching them english, had alot of teaching aids, not sure where she got em ( I think printed off the internet?)but maybe she can steer you in that direction. Anywho translators are desperately needed statewide so check into it! Have a wonderful day. God Bless.
There you are...nice to see you adn Joni speaking up! I sure miss ya'll being on here more often! Give me a few and I will PM you! I finally have a day off adn can you believe we are pacming Anthonys bags to go visit the "evil" father! Then gotta cook Tino some Tacos de Churizo for his lunch, then off to my work to pick up my pay check and for me and Ant to have lunch before he leaves! I am so dreading him going, cuz that father of his talks allot of you know what and gets Ants hopes up! ARGH! I very much dislike the idea of him goingbut he wants to spend a few days with him!
