Who has had Dr. Chris Dyas in Mobile?
Hi, I have Dr. Dyas who is supposed to be an excellent doctor-am having the lapband done in August. I was supposed to have it done on July 17, but had to re-schedule it.
I really don't feel like I have gotten alot of information on what to expect AFTER the surgery. Most of the info I have is from the internet. I've seen some people who stayed on the liquid/mushy foods for 6 weeks and then went to real food. And, I've also read where some people were able to go to real foods sooner.
What is the story for some of you-your experiences. I really want to know what it is like when you start eating real food. Can you eat pretty much what you want to-just not the same amount? Are their foods that any of you can not eat now that you could before. Is it miserable at all, or am I just panicking????
I really want to lose about 90 lbs, but I have this need to know what to expect.
Also, what do people mean when they say PBing??
Thanks!
Have you gone to any support group meetings? I have found those to be very helpful in getting questions answered, both when I was pre-op and post-op. I don't know anything about banding since I had the RNY bypass. Have you tried posting on the Lap Band board?

Also, here is some info on PB'ing, from what I understand is "productive belching or burping"

I hope that helps.
