Oscar, my 2-1/2 year old pointer is very sick. We rushed him to the er last night because he has been extremely legarthic for two days. Turns out he has been poisoned. We don't know how because we don't have anything out he can get into. As I type, he is having a blood transfusion. They tapped his bladder last night and said it was full of blood. We did find blood this morning on our bed sheets as he jumped in the bed with us Monday night. They also said he now has a heart murmur because his blood is so thinned out from the poison. There is blood flowing freely in his abdominal cavity and they are trying to figure out where it is coming from. Please pray for my precious dog. I didn't get a wink of sleep last night. The girl at the er knew Oscar because she also works for the vet where we always take him. We picked him up from the vet Monday afternoon because we had been in Nebraska for close to 2 weeks. The girl at the er brought her dog to the vet clinic to donote blood for Oscar this morning.  Thank goodness she was there last night. It really made us feel so much better about the care he was recieving. Anyway, I didn't mean to ramble but I would greatly appreciate any and all prayers for my Oscar. I will  be going back to the clinic in about 2 hours once they complete the transfusion. I will update you guys as I know more. Hugs to you all, Gail

Oh Gail!  Ia m saying a prayer sweetie!  I can feel your pain.  WE jsut went through some crazyness with my furbaby, Symba!  Our furbabies are just as much a part of our familyas our own kids.  Prayers are being said that the Drs find the problems, fix Oscar up and he can come home totally healed!

Awww, this breaks my heart. I can't imagine how I would feel if anything happened to my precious Sydney. He is a "people" not a dog and he believes that as much as we do. Anyway, I'm praying for Oscar and for all of you guys. It's hard to see our babies sick. Is Dakota close to Oscar? Please let us know how things go.

Oscar is Dakota's buddy. When I told Dakota about Oscar this morning he asked me if we were going to see him again and I told him that I wasn't sure and he got upset. We said a prayer together for Oscar and then we headed off to school. Dakota says the vets will fix Oscar and he is sure of it. I hope so. Thanks for the prayers. I will keep you all updated.  I am going to be away from the boards a while but will post later.

Our dog Bear was poisoned back in Sept. 2007.  We didnt find him until it was to late.  The cat was poisoned the same day along with our neighbors dog and some others in lowndes co.  THey said people were getting rid of the dogs so they could come back and rob the houses.  They came back here and stole the 4 wheeler while we were awake and then a couple weeks later broke into my husbands tractor trailer and stole radio and paperwork.  The paperwork was all of his receipts for the IRS.  Bear was our baby.  My son had had him since he was a year old.  We havent been able to find another one like him.  We do have Blue now but he just isnt Bear.  Bear was a Rodesian Ridgeback/Black and Tan.  Blue is a Blue Tic/Walker.  I hope your baby gets better.
