My DH is in North Carolina picking up my Suzuki "Boulevard" and I can't wait for him to get back.
He rode it last night and says its a great bike. It's a 2006 with 650cc and cherry red!!! I've signed up to take a safety course at the end of the month but Leo is also going to give me lessons. He was a motorcycle cop for 10 years so he know's a little bit about what he's doing. We can't wait to get out on the road together. I haven't told mom because I know she will be worried sick. We're planning on taking our bikes to N.C. in September to visit friends and a group of us will be riding the Smokies again. We're staying overnight in Gatlinburg and will visit Helen, Ga. once more. I'm so excited!!! This man is so good for me. God truly put us together!!!

Blessings,

Susan, I was "riding" mine in the yard and the same thing happened to me. The grass was high and I didn't see a hole.  I laid it down gently, so that's better than dropping it. And it was on grass so no damage done.  Go have fun! Beth

Oh gosh, I am glad you didn't get hurt.  I think the only thing that hurt me was my pride...lol....my Uncle was here and watching me so.....I did get a little scratch on my knee but it was bcuz I was wearing shorts.  I told my Uncle no more riding when the grass hasnt been cut!

wear shorts on a motorcycle?!?!?  when I laid my bike down I was basically stopped...well, stopped where my left foot was in a hole. Remember when its fresh cut grass...it tends to be SLIPPERY! We have gone to a huge parking lot to practice. I enjoy driving, but enjoy even better being a passenger for the time being...at least until ridingschool is over   I think I'm having a "mid life crisis" but then again I'm getting to experience new activities that I have always wanted to do. Keep me posted if you get to ride the bike again.  Have a good weekend and be safe. BTW, did I ever mention to you that I used to live in Chilton Co? Beth

Nothing tastes as good as being thinner feels.

I have to walk early in the morning, before my brain figures out what I'm doing.

Debbie, I "feel" your excitement!  and I am a little jealous because I want a "Boulevard"   Maybe AFTER I learn to properly ride that might happen. My friend was an instructor/motorcycle cop for several years before retiring.  He got me a motorcycle(Yamaha Virago 750cc blue/gray) and has been instructing me. After us witnessing a motorcycle wreck last year things were put on hold. So, I have been enrolled in a driving school(with the same instructor that "trained" him...yikes, I keep asking him "Do you think they will expect me to know more than others because of me being "attached" to you?" his reply "No"), which I will attend July 19-20. I think I am all ready for the school..riding jacket, riding gloves, boots, full face and 3/4 helments..now if the weather would just cool down a bit I would be good. To me the scariest thing about riding a motorcycle is TURNING!    I am so happy that you got a wonderful man in your life and can make lasting memories together.  Speaking of motorcycles...We are leaving in the morning for a weekend trip to W. Alabama Good Luck and PLEASE be safe! Beth

Hi Beth,

DH just called and he's almost in town. He's bringing it by here so I can check it out real good and show it off to my co-workers. They don't know what to think about me having my own motorcycle. I've got all my gear and am hoping to get in the class held at the end of this month. I registered today and will just wait now to see if I'm accepted.

Leo made me get out the bicycle over the weekend to make sure I could still balance the thing. No problem - now to get used to the braking and the clutch....I'll be nervous until I can get past that.

Ya'll have fun this weekend. We'll be taking a short trip to Pearl, MS. in a couple of weeks - my practice run!!!!

Debbie, Darn wish you could've gotten in the class with me next weekend. Leo sounds like my friend...I bought a bicycle several months ago for the same reason. You should do just fine with the braking and clutch.  Have you taken your motorcycle permit test yet?  I did and PASSED. I was so nervous taking it, but I passed.  Now, once the riding class is over I will go back to DMV and take the motorcycle endorsement part of the test. I am so happy to hear that you have "gear" then again, Leo being a previous instructor I am sure he made sure you had proper gear. I will NOT be ready for the interstate for a LONG time   back roads will be my friend for a while   Have a great weekend and be safe with your new motorcycle. Beth
