Anyone in the Montgomery area? I need info please!!
My hubby has a job interview tomorrow in the area (on or around the AFB) and I'm encouraging him to drive around afterward and check out the neighborhoods.
Any areas that you would recommend? Places to avoid??
I've been playing around on Realtor.com today and checking on houses. Wow is it cheap!!! It looks like we could get a comparable house there for about 200K less than where we live now.
I have 2 kids-- One who is 2, and one who is 12 (going into 7th grade.) I did spend some time on www.greatschools.net today. There don't seem to be very many highly rated public schools at first glance. I'd probably opt to put my son in Christian school (like he's in here in CO)
I did see some nice houses in Prattville and Millbrook.
Thanks,
Susan
A good Christian school would be good. Prattville and Millbrook have some good public schools. Private schools too. You have Prattville Christian Academy. Thats the main one but they have a couple of more. Their prices are reasonable. Then in Montgomery you have Montgomery Academy, Trinity, Saint James, Alabama Christian. Thats just a few. Im putting my son in at Lowndes Academy. Its just 12 miles from my house. As you can see i live on the West side of Montgomery only because this is where me and my husband grew up.
Hey Lady
Bob swears we are going up there one day just to look around but we never seem to make time. He dropped out of high school in Enterprise and went in the Air Force. After he came back from Viet Nam he decided to go back and finish his senior year. His Dad was doing a construction job at the college so Bob went with him and got his diploma at Alabama Christian. I hope our grandkids will go to Faulkner.
I tell you Faulkner has grown and is an excellent school.
I don't know if Bob would even recognize it.
Here is a link to their website....

And by the way, if you guys ever make it to Montgomery please call me.
