The funniest person I ever knew
I met my husband to be when I was 12 and he was 18. We got married when I turned 18.He was sick for years, he was on life support machines for 17 years. He passed away Christmas Eve will be 12 years ago. He had the best sense of humor. He joked about everything. I had a cat named Pudding. The spoiled things feet had never been outside. Our son let him out accidently (or so he claims) one stormy night. Pudding was so scared he ran up a locust tree. And as you know a loctus tree has sharp thorns. I pulled the school bus under the tree and climed on top of the bus trying to reach the cat. I called and called and he cried and cried and begged me to come get him. He got up the tree but couldn't get down. The wind was blowing and it was raining and I was on top of a school bus calling for Pudding to come to Momma. After about 30 minutes my husband told me. Hon. please come in and quit calling Pudding. The neighbors are going to think you've been on your diet too long.
His birthday was July 2 and I've had him on my mind a lot this week thinking about the good times we had. I can look back and I know he would have been delighted about the journey I've been on for the past 4 years. Having gastric bypass was the best thing I could ever do for myself. I feel fantastic.
I just felt the need to share my feelings and thoughts today. Thanks for putting up with a rambling old lady. Love, Miss Mary
Miss Mary, I can just see you on top of the bus in the rain calling that darn cat I took care of my grandparents until they all 3 passed away. My precious granddaddy was a hard working fireman that contracted Guillian-Barre' Syndrome when he was in his 70's. Paralyzed from the breastbone down, I made sure he kept his way in the outside world. Granddaddy never had a motorized wheelchair like people have today. He had the old fashion push chair and push that chair he did. When diabetes claimed both his legs he still kept "a pushin". One afternoon I went by to check on them (like always) and met Granddaddy rolling down the road. He decided to race me to the house and try to beat me up his ramp. WELLLL, he forgot there was a slight dip where the grass met the ramp. He flipped over backwards with his stumps flopping over his head. Scared the bejeebers out of me. He just laughed and said WELL Susie are you going to get me up from here so I can finish the race or are ya gonna CHEAT
Memories keep sharing Miss Mary. It helps the soul.
Miss Mary...please come on here and ramble on anytime you feel like it! I had a rough Monday and reading this post made me laugh til I cried!! I got a visual of you on top of that bus, calling "Pudding" and the wind and rain howling outside and your husband calling to you. That was funny! I enjoy reading your posts...please post more often. You are a bright ray of sunshine to this board! And I couldn't agree more about the gastric bypass! It is the best thing we've every done for ourselves.
