Declaration of Independence

Scripture: Psalm 33:12a "Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD" NIV   In 1775 thirteen British colonies, across the ocean from the mother country, protested the limitations placed on them by the King of England. Soon battles erupted in a struggle that lasted 8 years and gave birth to a brand new country. The infant nation soon adopted a document know as the "Declaration of Independence" and America was born.   2,000 year ago the Lord Jesus Christ cried out on the cross, "It is finished" thereby proclaiming the believer's "Declaration of Independence." Humanity everywhere was under the tyranny of sin and death. But Christ, the Sinless One, took our place on the cross and died for our sins. Having satisfied God's righteous demands He now sets free for eternity all those who trust in Him.   "I thank God for the freedom I enjoy as a US Citizen which was fought for and bought by the blood on my forefathers. But way more than that I give God the praise, glory and honor for sending his son to free me so I can be born again in the spirit bringing forth freedom from sin. "Freedom prospers when religion is vibrant and the rule of law under God is acknowledged" Ronald Reagan Prayer: Father thank you for a country that allows me to worship you freely --- God bless America on the 234th birthday of the USA --- today. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen! Christian Cyber Ministries

Hi Loretta and Happy 4th!  What a great post.  I fully believe the reason this "free country" is not prospering is because we have moved away from God.  I pray we move closer to Him soon!

how beautiful. yes freedom does prosper  when religion is vibrant (or tyrant?)...like the freedom to love anyone we want and marry anyone we want under this great free union of ours.  Or the freedom to worship like our Puritan forefathers religion who had a great insight to hang all those nasty witches in Salem in the name of the Lord, and the freedom to take care of our bodies and make our own decisions about our bodies such as having a child. Yes, we are lucky that we are a country that is so free it allows people to worship and believe the way they are led to believe including being Muslim or Morman or Atheist. And I am so grateful that I live in a country where men and women right now are fighting for ME and YOU in another country so I may have all those freedoms or at least some of them. And God bless that wondeful President Bush who is enjoying bbq and hotdogs with his wife and family  today while our military is sitting in the hot desert sun eating crappy MREs without an exit plan.
