Hello everyone.  My family and I just moved to Birmingham from CA.  We were supposed to go to Stone Mountain, GA for fireworks and now because of hubbys work schedule (he's a USMC Recruiter) we are unable to go.  Can anyone give us ideas on where to go on the 4th? Thanks! Liz

Hi Liz and welcome to the board!!!!  It is great to have you here.  There is a fireworks show on Red Mountain in Birmingham on the 4th at 9:00 p.m. or thereabouts.  It is big and pretty.  Also, many of the parks around here have them.  I would get a newspaper and look at the events for Friday.  There will probably be some in there.  BEst of luck and again...welcome to the board!!!

WELCOME to the OH Bama Board!  I'm not from B'ham but I am sure there are lots of things to do here.  We are at the Children's Hospital here with my daughter who is going home in a little bit.  I just wanted to give you a great big old BAMA welcome!!

Thanks for the "Welcomes"!   I just saw that the B'Ham Zoo will be free to military and family on July 3, 4, and 5th so I think we'll go do that during the day.  Heard something about the 5 Points South too.  Since they are both pretty close to here we might do both.  Thanks for the suggestion though.   Hope that your daughter gets well soon!

Thanks!  I'm still trying to get used to how things are out here!  I'm a born and raised southern cali girl so it's a definite change for me!

WELCOME!! The best fireworks display is just like Carmen says, Red Mountain in Birmingham. Stone Mountain is also awesome, go there whenever you can. It is a beautiful place to visit. God bless! Sandy
