What our department (photo) does is look for suitable candidates like yourself. We are "scouts" of sorts. We look for photos/people that have lost the weight and have the proper photos or can get them for us. Chellie (my department co-worker) does all the HARD work. She deals with the forms and sets up all the necessary info and photos into the required format and submits it to the media department. I review them after they are compiled for errors. For every 4 that appear in the magazine, 8 to 10 are submitted a couple months in advance. If your photos are not selected for that issue that doesn't mean they are discarded. The media team holds them and possibly uses them in later issues as recently happened. A woman was selected from photos that were submitted 6 months ago.
We never actually know which photos are selected. Sandi Peak was selected for the magazine and I don't think she knew she was selected until it was published
