We went for a walk this afternoon and went out on the boardwalk. It looked like a "rainforest". It was BEAUTIFUL!! We got brave and walked part of the way on the ground.. against my better judgement. When we got back on the boardwalk, we walked about 20 feet and saw a gator laying in the area where we were walking. We got some amazing pictures. Then a few minutes later, we saw a "granddaddy" gator swiming in the lake. He was HUGE!! We videoed him for a while.. he swam toward us and when we got a little uncomfortable with his closeness, we backed away. Then we saw a junior size gator that was hiding at the edge of the lake, just feet from where we were.  It was obvious that we were tourist because no one else seemed concerned that these beasts were close by.

Kimberly and David are still strictly parenting by the books.. LOL.. I'm not sure if kissing is even allowed. They said something about not taking her out until she is 6 weeks old.  The gators do make me nervous but I'm getting use to them. I was afraid the big one would come up on the ground. People think they cant move very fast on ground but they can.. they just cant run fast for very long. I can't either so that makes us about equal. I've seen the locals swimming in the lakes. They say it's ok because gators are most active before sunrise and after sunset. I dont care when they are most active, I'd hate to be there if they decide to change their habits.

I couldnt swim ther either. I havent asked for kissing permission (I just do it) but I'm pretty sure permission would be denied. For most things, it seems to be OK for some but not ok for others so everyone gets grouped into the same category to keep from hurting feelings. Know what I mean? Well it's almost bedtime for the kids so I'd better sign off. I'll be home in a few days. Gina

Hey Gina. I be like you scared of them gators. I grew up down at the Okefenokee swamp where there was plenty of them creatures. My daddy after he retired went to work at the swamp as a guide for the old homestead. He had a small gator that was probley about 5 to 6 foot long that he could call and he could feed him marshmallows by hand. That dang gator would walk up the steps to the old house when he called for him. I want no part of them. I am still looking for that add for you.

That's crazy!! I dont think I could ever feed a gator by hand. A lady in that area heard someone knocking at her door and when she opened the door it was a gator. I know they get hungry but I'll be dog gone if I'm gonna invite them in for a meal.  Gina PS My arm is getting worse everyday. I've got to get some relief. I have an appointment tomorrow.
