Tomorrow I am calling the Neuro-Opthamalogist in B'ham to speak with the nurse. I want their opinion about patients with "DYS".......anyway, I saw my eye md today. My vision has changed AGAIN in 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!  2 weeks!! The cataracts have gotten bigger and it is time for them to go. This eye dr has done about 5 exams on me since November and each one has been DRASTICALLY different!  I am sick of this. I can't see and I can't afford this!!!!!! We are also going to call BCBS in the morning to see what the deal is with them paying also. If we have met our deductible then they pay 100% except for these eye drops that he says are a must.   It's always something.......but I can't continue like this. Loving ya, Lindy P.S.   Please pray for ME, I have already lost my mind!!!!!!

Lindy,

Ask your doctor's office...there are programs in place with most all drug companies where they will provide free medication to those who can not afford the medications or co-pays required by their insurance.
You can also check with--well, Google "Free Prescriptions" and you will come up with several good
resources.
I know in our practice, if we have patients that need medications, usually the Drug Reps will provide samples for those that can not afford them.
There are a lot of resources out there, you just have to pursue them, and often, you physician must sign for them for you.

Good Luck

Carolyn~

Carolyn, I guess I kind of worded that wrong, Thank you for trying to help me. When I was saying that I couldn't afford this, I meant for one thing, the co-pays on the numerous eye exams. As far as the cataract surgery, he thinks that BCBS will pay 100% if we have met our deductible. We would have to buy the eye drops, BUT I bet that our insurance would pay pretty well for the drops.  I am just so frazzled & have cried NON STOP for DAYS & DAYS that I think I rushed that post.   I am so sorry if I did. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HELPING ME THOUGH!!! Hugs, Lindy

Dr Carter is FANTASTIC and does not drag his feet when it comes to cataracts.  He will order drops but if you explain that your insurance does not cover them and you can not financially cover it right now they will bend over backwards to try to get them for you! Southeast Eye Clinic 1-334-794-1968

Chickie Truck your dysautonomic backend  down to Dothan and see either Dr Jimmy Carter or Dr Freely. Bob sees them and they are wonderful and understand the autonomic system and problems it causes with eyes!
