ok so i mostly post on the main board but i know lotsa you folks irl and from other boards as well so y'all may or may not be familiar with me and my history. anywho, i've had a migraine (or a series of migraines? idk...) ever since friday, june 13th. i don't really expect anybody here to be able to help me (heck, i've been to med plus 3 times, to the er once and to my pcp once as well and so far haven't gotten any relief) but i figured it's worth a shot anyway. so, what do YOU do for migraines? what works for YOU? and what is the longest that you've ever suffered from a migraine or a series of migraines and what finally broke the cycle? i have an appointment scheduled with a neurologist for the 2nd (fingers crossed that i don't lose my mind between now and then!!) but so far nothing that USUALLY works has even remotely touched the pain. zomig, fioricet, phenergan, lortab, tramadol, demerol, compazine, imitrex... NOTHING WORKS!!!!!

oh, and please excuse the um... idk... "dumbness" of my post. my head isn't quite working right lately... for OBVIOUS reasons

Hey Sweets, i'm so sorry you are dealing with migraines.  I've had them since i was in 4th grade.  I sometimes get them for 4 or 5 days at a time and i've never had much luck with medication helping them. I take preventative meds to lessen the number of migraines i get and then of course i've tried all the imitrex type meds for when i actually feel one coming on but none of them have worked, even the injections.  Right now im trying out some samples of Maxalt so we'll see how that goes. When i get them i usually just have to get someplace dark and quiet and sleep it off.  Sorry my post wasn't really helpful..just wanted to let you know you are not alone. ~Heather

thank you yeah my dopey FORMER pcp put me on topamax about two months ago as a preventative and so far it's only made things worse i've had these stoopid migraines since i was 6 years old (AT LEAST!) and that's why tylenol no longer works for me for anything (overuse) and as a result of THAT everyone thinks i'm just a pill seeker

Im so sorry you have migrianes.  I have always had them since i was 10 years old.  I have would have to go to bed and when i would get up the next day they would be gone.  I would get one or 2 a month.  I had RNY on 2/23/07.  Along with my weight  the migraines left me too.  I have not had any.  GOD is GOOD.
