QUESTION FOR COFFEE DRINKERS
Good Morning All,
I am on the road to becoming a bander with Dr. Schmitt. I do have a question as I sit here and enjoy drink ing my large cup of morning coffee...realizing the limitations of the band and accepting them, will I still be able to have a full cup of coffee in the morning?
Thanks for your replies and here's to a beautiful Alabama day!
I am not a lapbander (Nanci--mom2Italiangirls) is a bandster and usually is on later in the day and at night so she might answer better. BUT I had Vertical BANDED Gastroplasty which is a form of banding. I can drink coffee with the best. I can drink a full cup of coffee but I do drink it slowly. Our pouches/bands are like funnel. The liquid run through quicker where as solid or heavier foods take longer to go through which is where the fullness comes from.
Welcome to the coffee club
I am not a bander, either...I am a gastric bypass. However, when I give parties with the coffee bar set up, I don't notice that anyone has any problems drinking coffee. I make 60 cups for a party and seldom have more than 2 or 3 left in the pot. I do believe that when my stomach is a little uneasy, the heat of the coffee helps to relax it. I drink a lot of coffee and have found that most of us on here do.
