Hi everyone, I am having my surgery on Monday. Tomorrow is my clear liquid, bowel prep day. My surgeon is Dr. Miles at STVE in Birmingham. I cannot find my pre-surgery direction sheet that they gave me in the office on Thursday. I have tore my house apart. I know the diet is clear liquids and nothing after midnight, but I cannot remember how much of the laxative to take and what time to take it and what time to retake it if the 1st dose did not work. If anyone is a patient of Dr. Miles and has this info handy, please send me an e-mail at [email protected] with the bowel prep info. I am panicked. Thank you so much in advance. Rene

I am not a Dr. Miles patient..but are you drinking the mag citrate? I had to drink 2 bottles starting around 2:00 pm the day before. If you really need to you can probably call his answering service tomorrow and leave a message.

I would call his answering service.  Tell them you are having surgery in the a.m. and you have lost the pre-surgical directions. I would think they would get some info to you seeing how you are having surgery in the a.m.

Every surgeon is different...but if I were a betting person, I'd bet that you've got to take the entire bottle (no matter what size it is,unfortunately, LOL).  Call his office & get a clear answer.

The medicine I was given is Phospho-soda and the "normal" dose is 1 tblspoon and I "think" the instructions were for me to take 3 tblspoons at 11:00am... If it had not worked by 2:00pm to take 3 more tblspoons.. I was looking for someone to validate that for me so I didn't take too much or not enough.  Thanks again.. Rene'
