Why Me Lord

For the past few months I have had odd things happening with my lab work.  We knew I had/might have had some minor heart damage in the recent past due to heart blockage that by a miracle was gone when the cardiologist did the heart cath.  We discovered that my potassium levels are dropping into the extreme danger zone.  When I say extreme I mean extreme.  My body is covered in bruises and I do not take any blood thinners nor asprin products.  Late Wednesday I had blood drawn and I was in the bare minimum with my potassium.  Early this morning I began having problems and again had labs drawn.  My potassium could not be detected.  HUH?  No level reading at all?  The machine was broken or the tech was new or something was wrong. My oldest brother was a medical technologist for years before he went into administration.  Although he has been retired for several years he still "knows his stuff".  I ding-donged him and told him what was going on.  He said the tech was fine and the machine was ok.  Little sister was 50 years old and was kin to our Mama and to get her butt to the doctor ASAP and if I didn't to make sure my life insurance was up to date    Ok,  back to the doctor after lunch and now I get yet another butt chewing.  By now I should be 10 pounds lighter because my backend WAS the largest part of me   New wrinkle.  Potassium must be brought back up OR ELSE.  It causes memory lapses, confusion, weird behavior--heck--all of that is normal behavior for me.  I am now on potassium pills 4 times a day and have to have labs on a weekly basis.  Crappola. Have you ever seen Potassium pills?   They can't be cut so I have to wrap them up in cheese or cottage cheese or peanut butter.  I can't drink the liquid potassium--that stuff will gag a--well, you know Hey Loretta, can I have some of your potassium??????????

I'll give you all the potassium you need....come and get it.....wonder if they could do a transfusion between us???  LOL  That Kayaxalate stuff is the worst thing ever.  My nephrologist called and personally talked to me this morning.  Said to continue with the Lisinopril AND take the Demidex.  Also suggested if things aren't better on Monday with my labs at my PCP for me to start the Kayaxalate.  Ewwwwwwwww.....It's HORRIBLE!!!  Ya know.....have had lots of bruising too lately and some dizziness and confusion (forgetting where I am in a sentence)  My problem also causes heart problems.  Having HIGH potassium is just as dangerous as LOW potassium.  How weird.....Guess we can just be WEIRD together.  Heck I knew we were friends for some  reason or other.  hee hee!!!

Sorry you have no potassium.  Is the liquid really bad?  LOL  Like the Iron liquid?  I've learned to tolerate the stuff.  It's hard though!  Believe me.  Memory loss?  Maybe I better get my potassium checked.  For some reason, when I am spelling potassium, I think possum???  Go figure!

Liquid Iron tastes like a milkshake compared to this stuff.  Liquid Potassium makes the stuff you drink before a colonoscopy  taste like Starbucks.  Does that give you an idea how bad this is?????  I can take the pill form but I have to be very careful or they will hang.  I find the go down better if I swallow them mixed up in peanut butter.  It seems to slide right on down.   Heck Fire, I would not wish these pills or low potassium on a poor lil ole possum.  They are cute as bugs in a rug   Bob rehabilitated a baby possum a few years ago named Snodgress.   Now, what were we talking about
