Anyone in Montgomery?

Hello all. I am currently trying to get a Tricare referral to a GP Surgeon for RNY. I am so anxious this morning because I just got lab results that where really bad regarding cholesterol and moving up from insulin resistance to diabetes. I'm 5.7 on one lab where a 6 is diabities (can't recall the test). Anyway, I was wondering where anyone in Montgomery w/ Tricare had been sent. I know its a really specific situation regarding location and ins but if anyone had the same it would be super helpful so I can go ahead and schedule a seminar without the referral since they are usually open to public and don't require the referral yet. I'm just concerned Tricare will drag their feet and then it will take even longer to get in with the surgeon... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kim

I just went to the tricare web and your Dr. was on the list of aprooved surgeons. Can you tell me anything about him and how long everything took? What where his pre-op tests and requirements like? Sorry for all the questions, just really anxious to hear back from Ins w/ a green light...

I used Dr. Stahl which is in the same office as Dr. Sherrer. Their office is in Alabaster. I had my surgery so long ago till they may have changed. Once I filled out my application it took less than a month to get approved by my insurance and then another month for the doctor to schedule my surgery. I really liked Dr. Stahl and have had no complications from my surgery. You can ask any questions.

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome Kim to the Bama Board!!! I cannot help you with the Tricare question/concern. Your test that showed a 5.7 where a 6 is indicative of diabetes is a HgbA1C. Hope this helps you.
