Praise the LORD!!!
My PCP has not told me that he does not approve of WLS, but I can tell that he doesn't based on the way that he acts. He has never made it any secret to me that he thinks that WLS causes nothing but complications, and he doesn't want to have to deal with said complications. It doesn't even seem as though he is willing to even look into the benefits of WLS. His attitude toward WLS has really been upsetting me, but God took care of me!!
I went to see my endocrinologist today, and I told her that I am trying to get approved for RNY, but that my PCP is a lot less than thrilled with the idea. My endocrinologist looked up at me and said , "You know, we can do your monthly visit and monitor your weight loss, or lack thereof, here in my office. Any doctor other than a surgeon can do it". She went on to tell me that she had a patient that she monitored for six months that was having WLS today. Isn't that just awesome???
Yesterday God opened the door for me to get onto the waiting list for the surgeon's seminar. Today God helped me find a doctor that knows me and will understands the benefits of WLS, not just the risks, to monitor me through my six month diet and exercise program. Praise the Lord!!
