Surgery Tomorrow

Good Morning everyone! I don't get a chance to post very much anymore, but I do lurk and have been trying to keep up with everyone.  We all have so many good and exciting things happening in our lives it is hard to keep up with y'all sometimes, lol. I hope I am not being selfish, but I would really appreciate everyone sending good thoughts and prayers my way.  I am scheduled for panniulectomy tomorrow morning with Dr. Bunch here in Tuscaloosa.  I was the friend that Elle posted about that originally had a consultation with Dr. Jack in Birmingham.  It is nothing personal against Dr. Jack or his collegues or staff, but I personally just did not feel comfortable with him.  I sought out a second consultation with Dr. Bunch and now the big day is here.   This has been an amazing journey.  From weighing 387 pounds in September of 2004 to having lost 196 pounds as of June 2008 and about to have a flat tummy for the first time in my life!  I will admit, I am very nervous.  I had a problem with my oxygen levels dropping last time while in recovery and I am praying that does not happen again.  Not nice to wake up to the nurse slapping you and threatening to put you in ICU! Enough of my rambling, did not mean to post a book.  I just ask that everyone think positive for me tomorrow. Love you all, Amy

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors but they all have to learn to live in the same box.

WE LOVE YOU TOO, AMY!  I wish you the best of luck tomorrow.  If I don't have Christian in the morning I will come to the hospital if I have him in the morning, then expect to see me tomorrow evening.  Sometimes Holly works mornings and sometimes it's afternoon's.  I just can never keep up with which day is which. You are going to be just fine.  You are in such good hands with Dr. Bunch.  Please tell him hello for me, will ya???   I can't wait to see you tomorrow.  I am so excited for you. Love and prayers, Loretta

Good Morning Miss Diva Elle! I have to check in thru Same Day Surgery at 8:30, scheduled for Surgery at 9:30.  Did I tell you that I mentioned you to Dr. Bunch in my initial consultation with him?  He just laughed and asked that if I knew you then why did I ever go to Birmingham for a consult, lol. Give that sweet Christian a hug and a kiss from me.  I hope to see you tomorrow and get some good advice on the quickest way to get over this surgery! Love you!

You know me, I have to be different from everyone else, that's why, lol.  J/k.  I was just impressed with him and he claims his specialty is post-gastric bypass pts.  Should have saved myself the embarassment and stayed here in town.  Just a hint...I didn't get the blue paper panty and he took the pic's himself, ick!  Talk about wanting to crawl under a table and hiding!

Good luck tomorrow - I'll definitely be praying for an uneventful surgery and recovery!  Just take it easy - don't do anything you aren't supposed to do (for the first few weeks) and you'll be fine!!

Thank you so much Lisa.  I am a bundle of nerves today, but don't have time to think on it too much since I have so much to do here at work and such little time to get it done in.  I am going to go by dr's orders, but I can be stubborn sometimes.

I understand about the nerves...but you'll be fine!  I had myself so worked up, and honestly, it wasn't any worse than the RNY...in fact, it wasn't as bad.  No nausea, nothing....it was a piece of cake!
