I know I haven't been posting much, but with a full time job with a 45 min commute and an active 8 year old, it gets hard!! Anywho...a little background.  I recently got married in October.  My  DH had no prior experience with kids and had been a bachelor for the past 14 years.  He was scared to death that he didn't know what to do with my DD.  Well, it's been amazing watching the step-dad that he has become.  He's so good with her, even has more patience with her than I do most of the time!  Don't get me wrong, he's had his difficult times too, but he's hung in there. With this being his first Father's Day, I want to make it extra special for him!!  I don't want to just buy him a shirt and be done with it. Any suggestions??

Hey Karen, I understand where your coming from, I was in the same situation last year. We took DH out to a nice dinner and a movie.  My youngest son bought him a Sterling Silver "DAD" ring (didn't cost hardly anything but it was the thought that counts) that he still wears and shows off.  And of course we each gave him a card. Just a thought....

Take your DD shopping.  Let her pick out what she wants him to have for Father's Day.  Even if she picks out Hannah Montana to give him, he will love that more than anything you buy because it came from HER

Karen, that is so sweet.  I don't have a clue as to what to suggest to you, but I think that's so sweet that he's done so well with your daughter.  That's TERRIFIC!  My best to you and your new family.  BTW, how's your MOM?
