Hokes Bluff High School (my HS alma mater) pitcher Tyler Stovall, who led the Eagles to win 4 straight state 3A baseball championships (6 consecutive total) was drafted #64 yesterday afternoon in the first round of the MLB 2008 draft by the ATLANTA BRAVES!  WTG TYLER!    can y'all tell i'm excited?  this kid has shattered every state pitching record to be had, was recently voted alabama's mr. baseball 2008, got a full baseball scholarship to auburn (his dream school-although it's pretty much a moot point now, lol) AND he's valedictorian of his senior class!  he's got brains AND talent!  i can't wait to see him hurling 90+mph fast balls in a braves uniform!  CONGRATULATIONS TYLER! WOO HOO!!   His parents are both graduates of my alma mater, Oxford High School.  His mom actually graduated in my class ('83).  This is such an awesome opportunity for him - wow!    It'll be great to watch a 'local' be a part of a major league team!
