Some Good News..Some Bad News..

I had an endoscope yesterday. Everything looked normal. The bad part is there is something going on in my tummy they can't find. ER said it was an ulcer. The endo didn't show it if it is. So when I come back from Florida next week..I will be scheduling a colonoscopy. Lovely. And I will be swallowing a camera pill so the can watch it go down. I am so frustrated. I know something is wrong. I was so upset last night when the surgeon told my husband maybe I had a panic attack. NOT. Ken did back me up though..he told the doc it wasn't a panic attack as I have had the same pain in the same spot for a good while. That's the bad news. The good news is this..I saw my rehab counselor and he has gotten all my records . Before long I will be on my way to a new career..outside of the restaraunt business. YAY for me!!

If you had RNY the part of your stomach that was seperated from your potch could have an ulcer and it will not show up on any test all they can do is treate you for it. You need to talk to your surgeon that did your WLS. Pamela

Pamela, I did have RNY. I know there is a portion that the docs can't see through an endoscope. That is just the first step in trying to find the location. AS far as my RNY surgeon..his aftercare has left a lot to be desired, so no thanks. I will stick the surgeon that saved my life when I developed a hernia that was choking my intestines.

So sorry you are going to have to go through more tests.  I can't say enough about Dr. Vankanini and his staff, they have scoped me at least 20 times now due to my ulcers and strictures.  If Facundus cant find anything i would consider letting a GI Specialist have a try.  PM me if you want more info on them, im happy to answer any questions.  Hope you feel better soon! ~Heather
