My plan says: O *Obessity or other services related to weight loss or dietary control, including complications that directly result from such surgeries and/or procedures are not covered.  This includes weight reduction therapies/activities, even if there is a related medical condition.  Not withstanding provisions of other exclusions involving cosmetic surgery to the contrary, services rendered to improve appearance are not covered services even thought the services may be required to correct deformity after a previous theraputic process involving Gastric Bypass Surgery. So am I reading this right?  Am I just out of luck AGAIN?  I am so down about this.  I even did some emotional eating bcuz of it and that makes me very !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Prayer for Health

Almighty God, who has given me a wonderful body to hold my immortal soul, teach me how to live that I may keep it in health.

Let me learn the laws that govern my body, that I may not break them. Help me to regulate my appetite and passions, that they may serve you and me, in the building of my body, and not weaken it.

Give me health of mind, that my thoughts may be clean and pure. Make me love your good gifts of fresh air and cool water, and use them for your good, and the good of my body.

Help me to always keep my body fit for your service.

For Jesus' sake.

Amen.

I'm not a health insurance expert but I know this provision is listed in several policies.  I also know that given a few appeals and even hiring a lawyer has helped some be able to obtain coverage.  Keep the faith, Susan. Where there is a will, there is a God who will provide for your needs. Love ya, Nanci

Im sorry.  I had a plan.  If i had been denied or whatever  i was going to the bank.  I dont have alot of money and need a new car but i had to get the weight off.  Im sure my husband would have been upset about getting a loan just for that but i was going to tell him you bought a 4 wheeler, a boat and a collection of guns.  I can get a loan for WLS.  Im glad i didnt have to get one.  I hope everything works out for you.

The best person to break this down for you is the insurance person at your surgeon's office.  They definitely know their stuff.   Don't give up -ask questions & get answers. Lisa
