Practice what you preach

To "preach" is to tell others the right way to do something; to "practice" is to do the thing yourself. You "practice what you preach" when you yourself do something the same way you tell others to do it. Example: "You keep telling me how to hit the ball. Why don't you practice what you preach?" Our actions (what we do) should always be consistent with our words (what we say). Example: "Good preachers always lead by example and practice what they preach."

I read one time that a preacher should always preach a good sermon and sometimes use words.

Thank you. I am on standby for going to Florida. Kimberly is due at any time with her first baby. She has a doctor's appointment today so maybe we will have a better idea about when to expect Emerson when she gets home. This will be my fifth grandchild, can you believe it??
